観光客の多くは駐車場が整備されている仙娥滝付近を中心に訪れ、多くの観光客で賑わうが、自家用車で観光に訪れる者も多く、紅葉が見られる観光シーズンの11月の土日は、周辺の道路が渋滞するほど賑わう。そのため、公共（県営）駐車場もあり、観光施設や土産物店にも駐車場が併設されている。施設店舗を利用すれば無料のところがあります。
昇仙峡は、山梨県甲府市、甲府盆地北側、荒川上流に位置する渓谷です。覚円峰と呼ばれる180mの大岩があり、ツツジ（3月下旬）や紅葉（10月下旬～11月下旬）の時期は特に足を運んでみたい観光地です。
昇仙峡の正式名称は「御岳昇仙峡」と言い、古くは日本百名山の一座、金峰山信仰の参道口として発展してきた歴史があります
昇仙峽（日语：しょうせんきょう）是位在山梨縣甲府市甲府盆地北側、富士川的支流荒川上游的一条溪谷。1923年（大正12年）被指定為國指定名勝、1953年（昭和28年）昇格為特別名勝。正式名稱是御嶽昇仙峡（みたけしょうせんきょう），一般多以新字體寫作御岳昇仙峡。屬於秩父多摩甲斐國立公園，也是此公園具代表性的名勝。名列日本二十五勝、平成之名水百選等。

Shosenkyo is a valley located in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, on the north side of the Kofu Basin, upstream of the Arakawa River.
